Save a Child's Heart Endowment Fund

In Memory of Dr. Ami Cohen, z"l

The Save a Child’s Heart Endowment Fund, in loving memory of Dr. Ami Cohen, is an affiliate of Save a Child’s Heart, with its headquarters in Holon Israel. Save a Child’s Heart is the world’s largest charity devoted to providing life-saving heart surgery to indigent children from all parts of the globe.

Save a Child’s Heart has diagnostic, training, and treatment centers all over the world.  Its main surgical center is at the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, Israel.  The number of cardiac surgeries performed by SACH has grown dramatically from 48 cases in 1996 to a total of over 5,000 cases in 58 countries by 2018. Even though the doctors, nurses, and technicians donate their time to treating the children, each operation costs $15,000. That sum covers the cost of bringing the child to Israel, the cost of surgery, hospitalization (regardless of length of stay), medication and administration.

The Save a Child’s Heart Endowment Fund is devoted to providing funding for operations and educating children in synagogues and schools about the organization and the importance of giving tzedakah (charity).  100% of every dollar donated to the endowment fund goes toward the cost of life-saving operations.  Anonymous donors absorb our overhead costs, including the cost of teaching children about Save A Child’s Heart.

We need your help to keep our doctors operating.  We hope that you will open your heart and make a generous tax-deductible contribution to our cause.  You can donate on line or you can send a check to:
